The final barrier has been removed!

Ladies and gentlemen, The Reedbed is proud to announce that sohbet is now available on a “name your price” basis from The Reedbed store. What does this mean? It means you can get a digital, high-quality copy of sohbet – for FREE! It also means you can get a cd copy – for the price of shipping! (Shipping cds is fairly expensive. I’d love to do it for free, but yeah…over $2 in the US and about $6 everywhere else – ouch)

You don’t have to pay us a dime! (aside from the shipping thing for cds). You CAN edit the price in the shopping cart to whatever you’d like – call it a “donation”. But you don’t have to. We’d rather people HEAR it than BUY it! So quick! Get thee to the store and place your order!

Shipping is done on an ASAFP basis. 😉

Open for Business!!!

We now have a STORE. With things! You can buy them!

As a thank you to the first people who buy sohbet – enter “earlyadopter” (no quotes) as the discount code when you check out for $3 off the usual $8 price! Physical CD copies are coming soon as is iTunes and CD Baby and Amazon and all that stuff. But if you just can’t wait, or like your stuff DRM-free – the mp3 version is in the store RIGHT NOW.

Take me to the store, sir!

Update!

It has been a while.  My only excuse is “working on the record.”  That being said, I can now reveal a few details here and there about the record.

First – a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE thanks and sloppy wet kiss goes out to everyone who has helped and played on the record.  The list of players/singers has been like this:

Drums:  Charlie Korch, Nathan Weaver and Chris Blackwell.

Vocals: Alexis LaSalle, Heather Luttrell, Calli Southern and Alex Winfield.

Additional Instruments: Rasheeda Ali (flute), Alex Winfield (piano)

Engineering:  Chris Blackwell, Shaun Foti.

Now to the stuff you’re wanting to hear – in other words – WHEN?!??!?  We have set a HARD date to start mixing of Dec 11th.  All that remains is finishing up a few vocal tracks and recording is DONE.  Mixing should take about a week, so I am hope-hope-hoping to have it available for digital download by Christmas.  Hard copy cds available shortly after the first of the year.

I am INCREDIBLY proud of what we have done so far, and will be looking forward to hearing whether or not you all enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed making it.

It has begun!

Tracking for the new record has FINALLY begun at Cowtao studios!  Can’t wait to get these songs out to y’all!   Stay tuned!  Pics/video soon!

Our First Airplay!

The wonderful Eliana Benegas at MBC Radio Online in Argentina was kind enough to play ‘Could Not Keep’ on her show!  She will be playing it again on Thursday, June 30th!  This is a new studio recording which we will have available for download soon and features guest vocals by the amazing Jessica Cayne.

Be sure to tune in to hear us on Eli’s show on Thursday night at 9 pm Eastern!

You can catch a live stream here:  http://www.mbcradio.com.ar/

Americana-rama Pics!!

Some pics from the show.  Big thanks to Ashley Staley the photographer!!

Oh sweet! Our first bootleg!

So we had 3 rehearsals as a full band.  It’s raw, rough around the edges and a crapload of fun. Aside from mastering by Chris Blackwell to get the levels up and editing out some overly long chatter between songs – this is the unedited Reedbed, with Special Guest Shaun Foti.

This was recorded at the Masquerade in Atlanta, GA.  We were the first band of three, with the other two being Streak-ed Head out of Carrollton, GA and Jo Henley out of Boston.  Was a great show for everyone and we are honored to have been a part of it.  Thanks for coming out if you were there!

Get all the info (and the tunes!) direct from our own bootleg master “The Ghost of Al Capone” right over here.

Now that you know what you’re missing – come to the next show!

Voices from Beyond

Hey folks!  Ghost here!  If you didn’t know me, I am the “official” bootlegger for The Reedbed.  So since there has been a show – I got something for ya!  You will see me make an appearance here every time there’s a show.  The Reedbed believes in bootlegging and while these are usually mastered to normalize levels, the only edits made are to remove extra long stage chatter between songs.  No parts have been re-recorded or “sweetened” in the studio.  This is the real deal – rough around the edges, but a good record of what went down at the show.

I’ll stop babbling now and post the link:

The Reedbed – Atlanta – Masquerade – 2011.5.29

Enjoy!

HOLY!

Man! – now THAT was the way to kick things off.  Thanks to everyone who came out to the Masquerade last night to catch our almost first show!  Extra special thanks to Shaun Foti for stepping up to fill in and completely knocking it out of the park.  Audio/pics/video coming very soon!  Watch this space!  Thanks to Amber Amick and the Masquerade for having us!  Can’t wait to do it again!  Yaaaaaaay!

TOMORROW!!!

Oh man!  Show is TOMORROW.  Getting pretty excited.  Here’s hoping for a good turnout!  Is it bad that I’m hoping for a rainy day?  I’m not trying to spoil anyone’s Memorial Day weekend, but rain means y’all are less likely to be lounging outside late into the evening and more likely to come to the show!  Come out!  It’s gonna be fun!!
